Mission Statement
The mission of the Holden Cub Scouts Pack 180 Cub Scout program is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. It is our mission to provide each scout a safe, exciting and valuable Cub Scouting experience to prepare him for the challenges of scouting, while developing the necessary life skills to help him succeed in future endeavors. Pack 180 embraces the values of citizenship, caring, compassion, cooperation, teamwork, courage, faith, personal health, physical fitness, honesty, perseverance, positive attitude, resourcefulness, respect, responsibility, dependability, and leadership skills.
The time we have with our kids is short. Scouting provides the opportunity to experience the outdoors, learn responsibility, develop friendships and spend quality time with your son. It gives us an opportunity to instill lifetime values and help develop in them ethical character, citizenship, service, and leadership to become the next leaders of America’s communities. Our program is a family based program encouraging family involvement at meetings and activities. Unlike athletics, playing time is guaranteed and each level of achievement is reached through a joint effort between parent, child and leader.
We strive to provide fun and adventure through quality programs, den and pack meetings and year-round activities that promote participation and individual growth, provide service to others, build self-confidence and reinforce ethical standards. Promote strong family values and improving understanding within the family by working on projects together, going places together and talking together. Teaching outdoor skills and respect for the environment. Strengthening the boys’ ability to get along with others and respect others, while sharing numerous positive experiences with other young people who they will remember for the rest of their lives. We positively influence character development, instilling values and encouraging spiritual growth while helping boys develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship. By fostering a sense of personal achievement by allowing boys to try new things and helping them develop new interests and skills that become a positive growth foundation for scouts to become self-reliant and independent. We believe in having solid leadership, smaller controllable groups and a good structure and foundation for our boys to learn and grow.
